Little Tunny are locally know as false albacore, and in some regions are known as bonito. However, Little Tunny should be not confused with true bonito, especially when you put them side by side on the table.

Little Tunny have wavy lines across their black and grey backs. They are excellent sport on light tackle. Even with proper care (bled and iced after being landed), the meat retains a naturally strong flavor. Complete removal of the darkest red strip and soaking in milk can help reduce the fishiness.
