The Sea Robin is known for its redish brown coloring with wing-like fins close to the head.
The tail fin is fan shaped, but slim.
Two horizontal lines run down the length of the body.
One of the characteristics of the Sea Robin is the barking sound it often makes,
causing one to wonder if it should not have been named the "Sea Dog".
Maxing out at about 16", larger searobins make good eating.
They are a likely by-catch while fluking, weakfishing, and bluefishing.
They will go after just about any bait, but squid is a favorite.
